Setting up Yamaha SWP1 series
Disabling Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE)
The EEE function on the SWP1 Series is disabled by default, and does not need to be set.
EEE (Energy Efficient Ethernet, also called “Green Ethernet” or “IEEE802.3az”) is a function that automatically reduces the power consumption of the device when network traffic is minimal. Switches that support EEE will automatically adjust their respective power-saving settings so that they match, but some switches do not perform this mutual adjustment properly. It can be said that EEE is incompatible with real time applications, such as audio or video streaming, which can lead to degraded clock synchronization and audio interruption.
