Yamaha Active Field Control Makes World First Classical Performance Possible
In October 2021, a world first saw the Shimizu Cultural Centre Marinat in Shizuoka City, Japan host a unique production titled The Marinart Forest . Taking classical music beyond the boundaries of the conventional indoor concert experience, it transformed the concert hall into a variety of sonic locations, like forests and cathedrals, and created a single soundscape from performers in three separate locations.

Yamaha Supports Yokohama’s Yorunoyo Illuminations
In November and December 2020, Yamaha supported the annual winter illuminations in Yokohama, Japan. Titled Yorunoyo, the event was themed around the relationship between people, objects and culture.
The extensive illuminated walk through Yokohama Central Square Park featured large ‘cross domes’ that visitors could walk into. The main 20m diameter dome included a Yamaha audio installation, playing music especially composed for the event. The Yamaha system enabled dynamic distribution and movement of audio images inside the dome, the company’s cutting edge 3D reverb adding special depth to the sound.
The installation drew on Yamaha’s long history of acoustic design for theatres and concert halls throughout the world, providing visitors with a unique immersive audio/visual experience.
