Ruhrtriennale Embraces Yamaha RIVAGE PM10

Running from August to October each year, the Ruhrtriennale international festival brings music, dance, theatre, performance and other arts together in the former industrial buildings of Germany’s Ruhr region. The festival’s focal point is the Jahrhunderthalle, a former boiler house for the vast Krupp steelworks in Bochum. Its acoustics provide many challenges for audio engineers, but this year a Yamaha RIVAGE PM10 console helped to tame the sound for the opera Alceste.

18th November saw the 2016 BBC Children In Need appeal raise an astonishing £46.6m, in fitting tribute to its late, much-loved figurehead Sir Terry Wogan. BBC studios throughout the UK were full of broadcast performances and events helping to raise funds, with Yamaha digital mixing consoles playing their part at Maida Vale studios in west London.

Yamaha’s Valancia Conference Features Unique Shared 3D Audio System

For the past nine years, Yamaha Music Europe has organised an annual system designer’s conference. In 2007, the first conference attracted 30 delegates. This year over 120 gathered at the Valencia campus of Berklee College of Music, where they witnessed an exceptional cross-industry collaboration between Yamaha, Barco, Dolby and Unique Cinema Systems.

ProVisionaire Touch iPad Application V1.2 Released

ProVisionaire Touch, the iPad app that allows users to easily create original control panels and control audio installations from a tablet device, has been updated to version 1.2. The update adds support for MusicCast compatible products as well as Disklavier Enspire reproducing pianos. A single iPad can now control an even greater range of music sources in installations built around MTX or MRX series processors. The ProVisionaire Touch Kiosk app is now included, allowing easy user access management to prevent unintended controller and design changes during use.

The compact Yamaha MA2030 and PA2030 power amplifiers with features and I/O optimized for commercial installations have been updated with extra power and functionality. In addition to 8Ω output, the new MA2030a and PA2030a include high-pass and low-pass* filters that make it easier to incorporate subwoofers for enhanced audio quality, plus other features that contribute to improved flexibility and performance in a wider range of applications. With the same easy operation that is highly valued in the current MA20303 and PA2030 models, the new MA2030a and PA2030a are ideally suited for use in restaurants and cafés as well as lecture halls and other institutional environments.
