CL1 Firmware V1.61 (Previous version)
Important Notice
- With V1.60 firmware, we found that CL consoles may partially lose HA gain control of R series units after being powered on for a long period of time.
We have released the new firmware V1.61 in which the serious problem was fixed, and strongly recommend to update your CL/R series units with V1.61.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. - Please do not use the EEE function (*) of network switches in a Dante network.
Although power management should be negotiated automatically in switches that support EEE, some switches do not perform the negotiation properly. This may cause EEE to be enabled in Dante networks when it is not appropriate, resulting in poor synchronization performance and occasional dropouts.
Therefore we strongly recommend that:- 1. If you use managed switches, ensure that they allow EEE to be disabled. Make sure that EEE is disabled on all ports used for real-time Dante traffic.
- 2. If you use unmanaged switches, make sure to not use network switches that support the EEE function, since EEE operation cannot be disabled in these switches.
* EEE (Energy Efficient Ethernet) is a technology that reduces switch power consumption during periods of low network traffic. It is also known as Green Ethernet and IEEE802.3az. - You need to update the Dante-MY16-AUD firmware to V3.3.9 or later before using the Dante-MY16-AUD with the CL series firmware V1.51.
CL/QL/RIVAGE/R/Tio Series Editor/Firmware/R Remote Compatibility
Please make sure to use appropriate version of CL Editor or QL Editor which is compatible with your console firmware in reference to the following compatibility chart. Using an unsupported Editor/firmware combination may result in unexpected behavior.
The Firmware Set is a set of main (and sub) firmware of the device and the Dante firmware. The version of Firmware Set is the same as the version of the main firmware. Refer to the release note of each firmware about the details of the Firmware Set.
Main Revisions and Enhancements
New Features
- Shure ULX-D Digital Wireless Systems and Yamaha XMV8280-D/XMV8140-D were added as Dante devices which can be detected / patched in the CL series.
The ULX-D firmware has to be updated to the version that supports this feature. Refer to Shure's website for details. - Added the function which allows you to view the status of the CL series and the R series (except Ro8-D) on the screen of the CL series.
Each R series unit is required to be assigned to the REMOTE HA on the DANTE SETUP screen in order to view its status from the console.
Improvements
- When a USB device becomes disconnected because of excessive USB current, the device can now be reconnected without having to restart the CL series.
- Improved a problem in which, depending on the connected devices (a condenser microphone or a direct box), a noise was caused when adjusting their input gain from CL series with +48V enabled, at the point (between +17 dB and +18 dB) where the PAD inside HA is switched on or off.
- Improved the response time of HA for SCENE RECALL, etc.
Fixed bugs
- Solved a problem in which the CL series or Dante-MY16-AUD may partially lose HA gain control of R series units after being powered on for a long period of time with V1.60 firmware. For this reason, V1.60 firmware was withdrawn from our web site.
- Solved a problem in which the audio of CL series via Dante may very rarely be interrupted for about 15 seconds with the firmware V1.60 or earlier.
- Solved a problem in which the date and time could not be set using the TOUCH AND TURN function.
- Solved a problem in which the LED would not light by pushing a USER DEFINED key, when a SPECIFIC CH of CUE was assigned to the key.
- Solved a problem in which the response of StageMix (iPad app) was slow, when recalling a scene that has a FADE TIME set.
Known issue
- If the Dante Virtual Soundcard (DVS) is patched to the CL series device using Dante Controller, the patching may not be recalled correctly when the CL series device is restarted. Patch DVS again. In addition, when using a version of DVS for Windows that is older than v3.2.0, the patch after CH41 cannot be performed from CL series consoles.
- If the setup of REDUNDANT/DAISY CHAIN is changed while the Dante device is not connected with Dante PRIMARY/SECONDARY connectors, no audio signal will pass. Audio will once again pass after the Dante device is connected of after the power for CL has been restarted.
- Loading of a file created by version V1.15 or older will not include the mount information of Dante devices other than any connected Rios. It is the same when recalling a DANTE INPUT PATCH LIBRARY. Please reset MOUNT, PATCH, and DANTE INPUT PATCH Library data using V1.51 if necessary.
- In some specific network switching conditions, a CL-series device may link at 100Mbps instead of the expected 1Gbps. This could be due to the self-checking function of some switches. Use the Device Status screen of Dante Controller to check the link speed of each device. If it shows up as 10 or 100, then disconnect the network cable for this device and re-connect it to correct the problem. To avoid the problem in most cases, first allow the network switches to fully boot up before turning the power on for the CL-series devices.
*If you update the device from the V1.51 firmware, update the both MAIN and SUB firmware. To update the MAIN and SUB firmware, perform operations of only the section “Updating the CL firmware” in the “CL5/CL3/CL1 Update Guide. ”
If you update the device from other than the V1.51 firmware, update the CL device by following the steps in the “CL5/CL3/CL1 Update Guide.”
NOTICE
- When setting up the latency in Dante Controller, and there is a discrepancy in latency with the transmit device or the receive device, the largest (slowest) latency setting becomes effective.
- Do not change a device label except for the portions shown below as ******. Portions other than ****** are used for the device recognition from CL series.
Y###-"manufacture name"-"model name"******# is a three-digit hexadecimal number containing the digits 0 - 9 and uppercase A - F (000 - FFF)* indicates any desired character (alphabetical uppercase or lowercase, numerals, or -(hyphen) may be used)
- The Dante-MY16-AUD card and DANTE ACCELERATOR card will be recognized as a SUPPORTED
DEVICE if you assign the device label as follows.Dante-MY16-AUD: Y###-Audinate-DANTE-MY16******DANTE ACCELERATOR: Y###-Yamaha-DANTE-ACCEL*******# is a three-digit hexadecimal number containing the digits 0 - 9 and uppercase A - F (000 - FFF)* indicates any desired character (alphabetical uppercase or lowercase, numerals, or -(hyphen) may be used)
Important Notice(May 27, 2014)
Windows installer of Dante Firmware Update Manager included in the firmware zip file does not work due to expiration of the Authenticode certificate. Therefore you cannot install Dante Firmware Update Manager into Windows PC. The newly released Dante Firmware Update Manager v1.4.7.1 has fixed this issue. Please use it when you install it going forward. (This installer is compatible with Windows 7 or Windows 8 only.) Please note that you can use Mac OS installer included in the firmware zip file as it did not have this issue.License Agreement and Download File
