Chakor Sound purchases Yamaha QL5
Mumbai-based live events specialist Chakor Sound has recently added a new 64-channel Yamaha QL5 digital console to its inventory. Purchased through Dev Electronics, the console was chosen based on ‘reliability, superior sound quality, its friendly user interface and quick set up times'.

Even the components that we use in our very own indigenously designed line arrays, monitors and loudspeakers are imported from the best manufacturers internationally, which ensures that our equipment maintains its tonal quality and impressive coverage.'

Further outlining the reasons for selecting the CL5, Mr Puao stated: ‘The built-in Dante protocol allows for flexible connection to multiple I/O rack units configured and located according to the needs of the application, while providing redundancy for superior reliability. Plus, the Dan Dugan Auto Mixing on the QL5 is another great feature that dramatically improves the quality of sound. The console delivers outstanding balance, plus refinements such as programmable channel names/colours, user defined knobs, and an additional bunch of cool features like the premium rack which further created a positive impression on my mind. Plus, the option of easily expanding the QL5 to 64 channels with the addition of the Rio stage rack gives the added flexibility that any engineer would love.
'We put the QL5 in the field as soon as it came in at an Arijit Singh Live event held at Inorbit Mall,’ furthered Mr Puao. ‘Everyone was surprised to witness such awesome sound quality and loved the way the entire show turned out. We also used the same combination at the Chembur Festival where top artists like Sona Mohapatra performed, and her personal engineer Madhur Hatiskar was also very impressed with the Premium Rack and the Portico emulations. Additionally, the consoles were also used successfully in political rallies of Honourable PM Mr Narendra Modi for the Maharashtra State Elections.’
The new QL5 joins other consoles in the company’s inventory, including the CL5, M7CL-48, LS9-32, and LS9-16 from Yamaha, and ML 3000, GL 2800, GL 2400 and Mixwizard series from Allen & Heath. However, plans for another new addition are already in the pipeline.
‘We have plans to add another flag ship console to our inventory in the form of the Yamaha PM10,’ added Mr Puao. ‘And if things go according to plan it may happen sooner rather than later.’
