Yamaha Is At The Heart Of Cairate Community
Named after a local Jesuit who was a former director of Vatican Radio, Cine Teatro Padre Giacomo Martegani is a community venue in the Italian commune of Cairate, Lombardy. A recent refurbishment has included the installation of a complete Yamaha audio system.
Run by a core of around 50 local volunteers of all ages, under the watchful eye of local pastor Don Basilio Mascetti and Director of Operations Fabrizio Ferrario, the 260-seat venue hosts theatrical performances, live music, dance, a film club, meetings and a range of other local events. Its core aim is to promote local culture, education and a sense of community.
Rome-based systems supplier Delta Tecno Studio has a local office in nearby Varese, whose technical manager Pier Luigi Pecchenini worked closely with Don Basilio Mascetti on specifying the system.
“We needed an audio system that would fulfil the many and varied requirements of a venue which is at the very heart of the community. It also needed to dovetail seamlessly with a Kramer Electronics video system,” says Pier. “We have a long-term partnership with Yamaha and knew that their Installation products would provide a complete, high quality system from mixing and audio processing right through to output and monitoring.”
The system was installed in January 2015, with Pier’s choice of Yamaha equipment endorsed by Fabrizio. The system comprises an MGP32X 32-channel mixer, CD-S300 CD player, BD-S677 Blu-ray player, DME24N digital mixing engine and a pair of MSP5 Studio monitors in the venue’s control room.
In the auditorium a pair of ceiling-mounted Installation Series IF2112/95W full range loudspeakers and a DSR118W as a central, understage sub form the main PA, with two IF2205Ws as delays. The system is driven by XP3500 and XP2500 power amplifiers, with a CP4SF panel providing straightforward control for the community users.
“We did an EASE simulation of the proposed system and were very satisfied with the results, especially as the loudspeakers are so compact,” says Pier. “As expected, once it was installed it delivered great sound pressure and quality, satisfying all the requirements, from speech to a wide range of music and film soundtracks. That's why Yamaha was the perfect choice.”
