Yamaha Releases a Range of New 8-channel XMV Power Amplifiers
June 10, 2013, Shizuoka, Japan – Yamaha will introduce four new 8-channel models of XMV power amplifiers at this year's Infocomm 2013 in Orlando, enabling the Commercial Installation Solutions lineup to accommodate the demands of a wider range of commercial environments and applications.
With a new, streamlined approach to installed sound for commercial applications, Yamaha's dedicated lineup allows users to significantly cut down on cost, time, and resources throughout and beyond the installation process. By incorporating a simple, yet thorough step-by-step process via MTX Editor software, users are able to easily configure their sound systems and adjust parameters of the MTX processors, EXi8 and EXo8 expanders, DCP Series digital control panels, and even XMV power amplifiers.
Adding to the four existing 4-channel models, the new 8-channel power amps feature the same Class-D efficiency and versatile functionality that make XMV's perfectly suited to commercial installation sound systems. The XMV8280 and XMV8140 are equipped with Yamaha's newly developed YDIF digital audio format connectivity allowing for fast and easy setup with Ethernet cables. The XMV8280-D and XMV8140-D utilize Audinate's Dante digital audio network for larger venues where long distance cabling is required. All XMV power amplifiers can operate in both high-impedance (70V/100V line) or low-impedance (4Ω/8Ω) modes simultaneously, eliminating the need for separate, dedicated amps or an external transformer. The newly developed “Double Power Mode” effectively doubles the output of selected channels in order to drive speakers of varying output power via a dip switch on the rear panel. In addition, the updated version of MTX Editor will provide users more detailed control of the XMV's parameters via its easy-to-use interface.
“As the installation market continues to branch out into new territory, we are focused on providing users with more options to create an ideal sound solution for their particular environment” remarked Kazunori Kobayashi, General Manager for Yamaha's Pro Audio Division. “By adding four new models to the XMV Series, our Commercial Installation Solutions lineup is now capable of meeting the demands of applications with more extensive output and zoning requirements, while ensuring the exceptional reliability and streamlined workflow, installation and operation that the lineup ensures.”
