Sustainability

The Yamaha Group is engaged in a variety of sustainability-related activities to help people lead richer, more fulfilling lives. Here we introduce our activities to date along with their respective outcomes, and look at future initiatives.

Reducing Plastic Packaging

Yamaha is committed to minimizing plastic use and cutting back on waste throughout our packaging process. We are actively testing new designs and materials to make our audio products more sustainable. By fiscal year 2025, we aim to eliminate plastic packaging for smaller items.

Minimizing Environmental Impact with Audioversity Online

Yamaha’s Audioversity Online expands access to professional audio education, uniting experts, students, and enthusiasts on a global platform. This approach cuts down on carbon-intensive travel, aligning our training programs with responsible environmental practices.

More importantly, it removes geographical barriers so learners everywhere can develop the expertise to fully immerse themselves in the world of music and audio. By expanding participation and reducing our ecological footprint, Audioversity Online elevates both the art of sound and the well-being of our planet.

Preventing Hearing Loss

Protecting our hearing is crucial to social sustainability, allowing people to enjoy music and audio for years to come. Yamaha advocates for hearing education and safe listening practices so that communities can continue to flourish and experience the joy of sound. We host lectures on sound and hearing for local audiences, and we plan to broaden these efforts as part of our long-term commitment to public well-being.
