Vitaly Popeloff

Biography

Biography

Vitaly was born in Tashkent in 1969. He began to take an interest in music during his student years and rather quickly managed to prove his talent. In 1991, he established his first "serious" art-rock group "Edgar Poe», which quickly gained popularity in Tashkent. Later, his musical tastes turned to jazz, which resulted in establishing a jazz project "Not For Sale" in 1994.

In 1999 Vitaly becomes session guitarist. Until now, he is the top studio guitarist in Uzbekistan and has participated in albums recordings and live performances for the biggest Uzbek superstar artists (Yulduz Usmanova, Nasiba Abdullaeva, Yalla, etc.).

However, he has always been inspired towards composing more authentic, less “popular” music, experimenting using a wide range of instruments and musical equipment. In 2003 he recorded his first solo album "Pure Fiction", which reflected his passion for jazz music. In 2004, Vitaly joins forces with several other musicians and their musical collaboration has resulted in “Fromuz” project – which released four studio albums and three DVD with live performances. Their next album is scheduled for release in early 2018.

In 2014, Vitaly creates his new band “Popeloff Trio”, embodying his musical ideas that do not fit within the framework of the main project. Until now, Popeloff Trio released one LP and Studio session DVD. Vitaly became Yamaha Artist in August 2015 and representing Yamaha guitars and gear while actively working on various projects (master classes, concerts, session recordings).
