Biography

Mehrzad Gerami started learning guitar at the age of thirteen after she picked up her first Yamaha classical guitar and had her first stage solo performance when she was fifteen. To further enhance and develop her talent, she participated in the masterclasses of Professor Lily Afshar and Mehrdad Pakbaz. While she was completing her Masters degree in Music, she trained under a number of high profile professors, including Bor Zulijan, Dr. Afshin Torabi and Azin Movhed, earning her the first spot for her thesis “Performing Comparison of Bach’s Works on Lute and Guitar by Baroque Performing Features” in 2023.

As an educator, her teaching experience spans overs 11 years including different music schools, conservatories and college. In addition to this, she has had numerous recordings and performances either as solo artist or in collaboration with other notable musicians. Her solo album “Gozar” which was released in 2023 received much praise and recognition from the music community.
